The fact that I was speeding is not in dispute. I was passing going down an incline. Between 75 and 80 in a 70 MPH. I was told I was "clocked at 95" 25 over the speed limit..I was given a "break" since he wrote the ticket for 94, since at 25 MPH over he would have to confiscate my license..I have yet to pay the fine, by mail since I am out of state..I am sure it will be hefty..This is absolute fraud and the St Landry Parish DA and Sheriff should be investigated by the US attorney and States Attorneys General for Racketteering. I wonder how many out of staters get tickets written at "94"..the scam is so transparent it is a wonder that it is tolerated. The fine will be the last dollar I spend in Louisiana

Cited for 81 mph in a 70 mph zone with light traffic. Detector picked up the officer in the northbound emergency lane which I wouldn’t have seen in time because he was sitting right past a hill. Lazer could not have gotten me because I wasn’t in sight when the detector went off. I was going 70 when I was in sight of the officer. There could have been a second officer on the southbound side that I never saw, but I believe he just picked me out and wrote the standard 81 ticket (price break at 80). I would have loved to contest it, but it’s out of state and not worth the effort which is just the kind of attitude they thrive on, I guess. When I drive this interstate at night, I never see any patrolmen. I-10 is a different story.
