Bangor, Maine Speed Traps
Main St. Near downtown between Millers Restauraunt and Bangor Daily News
Speed Limit is 25 mph! All the cops here use Ka band, so if you have a radar detector and Ka goes off, SLOOW DOWN. If you’re going INTO down town you should see the cop on your left before the high bushes in the gas station. (The gas station after Bangor Daily News) If you’re leaving downtown, this is where it hurts the most, because that bush is sooo high. My friend got a ticket 28 in a 25, contested and lost. Go 20 here to avoid dealing with these harassment officers. Time and day differs, depends on Dunkin Donuts hours.
Finson Rd
The speed limit on Finson Rd seems to change from 35 to 25, with only a small sign, and no apparent reason other than to make it easier for them to get you. There is almost always a cop waiting near the cematary, so drive very slowly through that area.
I-95 from exits 45 to just before 50
Going through Bangor on I-95 the speed drops from 65 to 55. This is where they get you. You will come around a big corner just before entering Bangor, and there is usually one watching northbound traffic. You don’t see it until you’re right on top of him. Also they park just north of exit 45, northbound lane. Sometimes they are red cars, so watch for them. Also they will have a cop on the Authroized Vehicles Only turnout just north of the city, so coming southbound you have only 200 yards max to bring it down.
