Winnipeg, Manitoba Speed Traps
school zones
Just a reminder for everyone that all the school zones drop back down to 30 now that it’s September. I forgot and was doing 45 (not even 50…) and got picked in Waverley Heights. I’ve seen them in Fort RIchmond and Lindenwoods too.
Kenaston construction zone
Poorly signed fake 60 zone, large gap in middle, lanes reopened, no workers or equipment or work ongoing, more work ahead, zone ends long after work area, various coloured Dodge or Jeep vans or SUVs in open areas with no workers present. Lots of media coverage July 2014. It is normally 80 here.
Eastbound on Taylor, near Harrow/Stafford
Taylor drops from 60 to 50 just before you reach Pembina. Cops are usually parked right after the changeover spot to tag you as soon as you pass over.
Route 90 NB
police on top of hill next to safeway running radar on cars going down St james bridge. speed limit is 70
Northbound Pembina Hwy. immediately south of Grant Ave.
A police cruiser will often sit in the Mister Transmission parking lot on weekend mornings monitoring traffic by radar/lidar. At this time (before 8 or 9 a.m.), traffic is light and it is tempting to speed. The posted speed limit is 60 km/h.
