Elkton, Maryland Speed Traps
Rt 273 Near Gallaher Rd
Near the hills. I suggest not speeding on 273 period. There are atleast 3 traps that I know of betwwen Wesley’s and Appleton Rd.
State Route 279 North near I-95 Interchange Exit 109
North on 279. It is inbetween the RT 213/279 intersection and the truck stop/I-95 interchange. As you leave 213 and head north on 279, it is 50 (not 55!) MPH. It is 2 lanes north and usually lightly traveled. It is very easy to do 65 on this long straight flat roadway. However, they are sitting on the right, behind a treeline about 3/4 of the way to the Cracker Barrel. They see you way before you see them. Beware.

State Route 279 near appleton Road
Maryland state police sit off in the grass area near the wood line between Appleton road and belle hill road traffic intersection.it is a good 1-2 mile stretch of open road where speeds can excede 65 mph if youre not watching.
they sit in a group of 2-4 cars. if you are not watching it looks like they blend in with the woods.
