Intersection of Rosemont Avenue & Montvue Avenue has photo system to identify anyone running a red light. The lights on Rosemont Avenue have a very short yellow, so it is easy to find yourself going through the interection on red. This will result in your license plate being photographed and a traffic ticket being sent to you. Good revenue enhancement for the City of Frederick.

State Highway 270 15 near Exit Number 14 Rosemont Avenue

Frederick, MarylandNov 18, 20050 Comments

The incident took place at midnight on a Wednesday night. There is not much of a shoulder on 270 North between Germantown and Frederick, so this officer was parked right before the Rosemont Avenue exit. He was using radar, KA band, and probably that ‘instant on’ technique. My detector did not pick it up until it was too late. I was going with the pace of traffic, and there were two other vehicles going the same speed, but I was the one that got pulled over. The ticket was for going 74 in a 55 zone, a $80 offense. It may also be worthwhile to note that a friend driving up the same night saw the police vehicle parked on the other side of the highway an hour later on 270 South.
