Amesbury, Massachusetts Speed Traps
State Route 150 near Market Street
Market Street (Rte 150) Northbound leading out of town into New Hampshire is a very straight, flat road with a few widely spaced out houses on the west side and a huge apple orchard on the east side. Traffic is low most of the time and medium during rush hour. The straightness, flatness, smoothness, and wide open visibility for more than a mile justify a speed limit well above the posted 30 mph. The traffic typically travels 40 – 45 (except those that have already been stopped here) and that speed is certainly reasonable given the road type and conditions. The cops use this as a"chery patch" and bag speeders all the time.
This road is particularly bad due to the look and feel of the road promoting speeds well above the unrealistic posted limit!
