Be carefull driving on South Street in Amherst. The speed limit is 35 mph. I got pulled over for doing 44 mph. Luckliy I just got a warning. The town cops usually hide around the bridges and off to the side of the road aways.

Route 116 Southbound

Heading on 116 South from Sunderland: When you get into Amherst, right after you pass the UMASS exit, there is a bridge over the road you are on (116). A little past this bridge sometimes an Amherst officer will be on the side of the road sticking a rearward-facing handheld antenna out the window. It set my detector off as being K band. There are pros and cons to this: if he is running it all the time, because the road is kind of flat but not totally flat, you get some warning if you have a radar detector about 1 mile before you get to him. If he is running instant on and you are the only one on the road, then you are screwed, because the road is flat enough that he can get a positive lock on you.
