Newburyport, Massachusetts Speed Traps
At bottom of Summer St (one way) at Merrimac St
Police park at bottom of Market St (next street east of Summer St). They can easily see cars not stopping at Stop sign and continuing onto Merrimac St. Also police can view cars not stopping as they exit Rt1 bridge (south bound) at Merrimac St. Police are able to monitor two Stop signs from this vantage point.
Hale Street, just past intersection with Lavalley Lane
I drive pass this locale every Thursday night, and this one is a consistent customer in the warm weather.
This is right on the West Newbury/Newburyport town line. Going eastbound there’s a cop that sits right in the brush before the I-95 overpass, just past a "Speed Limit 30" sign that gets mostly covered over in foliage in the warmer months. He’s only out there at commute times (5-7pm).
Storey Avenue near Low Street
Police park in used car parking lot next to White Hen convience store at corner of Storey Ave.(Route 113) and Low Street. Traffic lights at this intersection. When traveling east on Storey Ave. a recent right on red light after a stop was changed to no right on red. Most people are not aware of this change.
