Norton, Massachusetts Speed Traps
On 123 pass the Dunkin doughnuts, there is a road that leads to the mass highway service building and cops will sit there looking for speeders coming the other way from Norton Center. The speed limit is 40 but most people will travel about 45-50 through the area.
When traveling down Elm St. toward the grove there is a parking lot across from a closed factory. Cops will sit far back in the parking lot or right up against the tree line. You won’t see them until it’s too late. Residents in this area are pretty good about it and will flash their head lights at you if there is a cop sitting there. The cops will write you a ticket.
Traveling either toward Norton center or Taunton on Rt. 140 near the New Testament School there is about a mile long stretch and the speed limit is 45mph. There are two dirt pull offs on that road and the cops will sit further back into the trees. You won’t see the cruiser until you’re on them. Since the speed limit is 45mph and its a straight-away, people tend to travel around 60 mph. They will pull you over and will write you a ticket and it will be expensive.
State Police like to hide under the RT.140 bridge on RT.495.
They like to sit on the left side in the median. Bushes cover your view until you are right on them.
The speed limit changes at least four times in a curvy four mile stretch. Police usually hide in drive ways around curves.
