Plainville, Massachusetts Speed Traps
Cross Street
Cross St. Is a feed to several manfg. companys and a large very rural area that you might expect to have a 25 M.P.H. limit, but doesn’t. It is 20. You will be exceeding that speed before you can read the detail cluttered sign (including local regulation of truck traffic) nearly opposite the side street from which the Plainville P.D. stage radar checks. In fairness; the first few hundred feet from Rt.1A are thickly settled, but Massachusetts sets a standard speed for these areas @ 25 M.P.H. and the safe exit speed from U.S.1A combined with this expectation makes this truly a speed trap . Hope this helps someone, I’ve seen many out-of towns-folk caught here over the years.
