Watertown, Massachusetts Speed Traps
Charles River Road
Cruiser or motorcycle posted during am and pm rush hours, but sometimes on weekends. Normally on the side near N. Beacon by the marina. Sometimes on the west side over the hill past the Perkins School. Speed limit is 30 mph. Be careful, 30 mph is not unreasonable, given the pedestrian and bike traffic along the park.
Main Street entrance to Grove Hill Cemetary
A patrol car will usually sit in one of the exit only driveways of the cemetary to catch speeders rounding the corner as they cross the bridge. The car is pretty visible, but is part of a ruse. About a quarter mile up the road (going further into Watertown) is a school. During school hours, the cop sitting in the cemetary will make you think that you’re past the trap. Be careful though, sitting on a side street right across the street from the school is another patrol car just waiting to nab you for going faster than 20 in a school zone. Be careful, I’ve never been ticketed, but according to a friend, if you’re going even 5mph over, they’ll grab you.
Mt. Auburn street next to school
get you during school time..20 mph….
200-300 Mt. Auburn Street
Usually there is a speed trap during the morning hours and in the afternoon commuter traffic. Speed limit is posted at 30 MPH.
