Whites Path
2 favorite spots for LEOs on Whites Path. The first is at the easterly end just where it joins North Main. A cruiser is often parked in a commercial lot on the right, which is hidden by a bend and where the speed limit drops from 40 to 30. The other spot is at the west end. A cruiser hides in one of the commercial lots and tails a non-speeder in the 40 mph zone, which abruptly drops to a 30 mph zone just before the road bends slightly and intersects with Station Ave. If the driver doesn’t slow down to 30 immediately, he’s stopped. This trick works great at dusk, when the cruiser’s lights can make identification impossible.
Whites Path
2 spots on North Main Street: LEOs like to hang out in the long driveway serving a Water Department well on the west side North Main, just south of the road’s intersection with Great Western Road. The well site is near the Flax Pond Recreation area entrance. Cannot see him ’till it’s too late. Another hideout is opposite this driveway. The speed limit for north bound traffic slows to 30 just after a small bend in the road. A driver unfamiliar with the area might not slow down quick enough and get bagged.
