Cadillac, Michigan Speed Traps

The city police like to sit in the Mancino’s parking lot at night and clock people on Mitchell Street; the intersection of Mitchell & River is where the speed limit drops from 35 to 25.

North Boulevard all the way from downtown Cadillac to Cadillac West is 25mph; anywhere along this route is bait for city police. One particular spot is near Kenwood Rd. (the dirt road near Laura Lee’s Landing) where there aren’t a lot of houses and feels much more rural; Kenwood is well-hidden from North Blvd. and you can’t see the cruiser until it’s too late.

from Diggins Hill to 13th St.

Police will sit on either side of the road near AAR facing the high school (especially during the school year) and catch speeders, etc. It’s only 25 through there, but most go faster than that.

The city cop likes to hide behind the Vogue Cleaners store on the west side of Mitchell St. He is often there between 5:30 and 7:30 AM pulling over people on their way to work. He will have his car behind the building with just the nose showing so he can shoot at cars that are going down Mitchell St.
