Van Born Road entrance ramp from Southfield/Outer Drive

Dearborn Heights, MichiganJul 25, 20020 Comments

To get onto Van Born Road from the Southfield Fwy (NB) or Outer Drive, one must take a curving sidestreet that serves as an entrance ramp onto Van Born Road. Because this sidestreet is in a residential area, the speed limit is 25mph, average speed is 30-45mph. 27mph will earn you a ticket. A police car, usually a gold or black cruiser, can almost always be found hiding behind a hill on a sidestreet that intersects with the ramp/road. Sometimes this speed trap is a gold mine for Dearborn Heights, and is frequently manned the whole day and into the evening.
