Melvindale, Michigan Speed Traps

Shafer road from Dix south to I-75 entrance ramp. Melvindale police watch constantly. They sit either at I-75 southbound ramp from shafer looking north or just west of the Marathon refinery at South Dix. Posted speed is 35 mph they will stop you at 40mph.

between Dix and Allen Road on Oakwood is the worsed. They don’t sit in one spot, mainly they just drive up and down the road radaring cars. But they might sit in front of the old Mcdonalds parking lot only at night. I’ve only seen K band radar and they like to leave it on when there driving. The police station is on this stretch road off Oakwood. If you don’t live in Melvidale don’t expect a break on any ticket. But the Melvindale court is more helpful if you fight it

Melvindale is a city around Detroit that only has 2 miles of the Southfield Fwy. However, they use this 2 miles to give tix to people coming to the Oakland County suburbs from the airport (Southfield Fwy is best way). Speed limit drops from 65mph to 55mph for Melvindale, and there is ALWAYS at least one police cruiser (Impala), many times two (especially on holiday/most travelled days). Always someone pulled over.
