Saint Clair Shores, Michigan Speed Traps
I-94 Between 8 and 10 Mile Roads
The entire 2 mile stretch is normally watched by City, County and State patrols who usually hide on the inside shoulder around the curves, or at the top of entrance ramps. It is an especially tricky area because if you are heading West and not watching for speed signs, or if you are merely “keeping up with traffic”, the limit drops dramatically from 70mph to 55mph. If you are new in town and get caught next to a semi- you just don’t have a chance to see that 55mph sign. (I believe it is located just south of the Stephens (9 1/2 Mile) overpass on the right.)
I am not sure if there is a similar change on the Eastbound lanes- but I consistently see folks pulled over on that side of the freeway also.
Jefferson N.of 12 mile rd…..lake side
car sits in parking lot for small private park that is on the water side of Jefferson
12 mile East of Little Mack – St. John Medical Center
A car will sit behind the small cement wall by the entrance facing East. It’s hard to see if your coming West to East on 12 mile.
Jefferson – North of 11 Mile Rd. @ Bruce Post Parking lot
Sits hidden from South bound traffic behind tree line
I-94 East, after Masonic Blvd overpass.
Cop sits on bottom of hill in the left hand shoulder and uses radar as you come over it, since this is where traffic commonly clears, it is also where people tend to speed up over the hill.
