Duluth, Minnesota Speed Traps
Highland Street near Skyline Parkway
Traveling east toward West Duluth from Getchel Road. After you pass Skyline Parkway the speed limit changes from 40 MPH to 30 MPH. As you round the curve to the left the Duluth City Police sit up in the driveway of the cemetery on the left and get you as you round the curve.
Interstate 35 near 40th Avenue W to 27th Avenue W
The State Troopers will sit parked up on the bank after an underpass. You will not see them until you have passed them. I have never been stopped there though.
Stebner Road near Arrowhead Road
They are cracking down on traffic heading down the hill from the Mall area down to West Duluth, via Stebner Rd. This is an alternate route instead of the freeway so is getting more rush hour traffic.
Junction Avenue near College Street
Near the University of Minnesota Duluth Campus. UMD Police, Duluth Police and State Troopers sit in the lot at the bottom of Junction Ave. and nail speeders coming down the hill 24/7. Be very aware – they mean business!
Interstate 35N near Lake Avenue
The State Patrol often parks at the last of the tunnels on northbound I35 where the posted speed limit is 50. They particularly like to patrol this area around bar closing time (2am) to catch UMD/CSS college students on their way home from a night of revelry.
