Eagan, Minnesota Speed Traps
State Highway 77 near Diffley Road
An unmarked Dodge Charger sat under the Diffley Road overpass, sitting next to a marked Dakota County cruiser. The Charger was monitoring southbound traffic, the cruiser was watching the other direction.
Interstate 35-E near Lone Oak Road
Troopers sit under the bridges, in the shadows, clocking traffic in the north and south bound lanes of Interstate 35-E under the Lone Oak overpass. The speed limit there is 55 MPH reduced from 65 MPH less then a mile away.
Pilot Knob Road near Cliff Road
Traveling northbound on Pilot Knob torwards Cliff a single squad will sit on the frontage road on the east side of Pilot Knob as you go over the hill. This is an intermittant trap, where I will see him every day for a week and then he’ll be gone for a month. He does use laser so he can pick you out of traffic. Just try to slow it down over the hill and keep a close eye on the traffic in front of you. If you see brake lights in that area it’s a good hint that he’s up there running traffic.
Wilderness Road between Lexington and Pilot Knob
Ok, everyone always speeds on this road. I know cause I live just off of it and can hear/see it. But what people don’t understand is how well it is patrolled. Seriously, 1 out of 3 times I drive on it I see a cop. They rarely just sit and wait, but rather just drive on through. The hills and turns are a huge disadvantage since once you drive over it and see the cop its too late.
Watch out for the stop sign too, I have had friends completely blow it and the cop was just sitting in that dark part of the woods waiting.
Rahn Road between DIffley and Cedervale Parkway
Almost every Saturday and Sunday you will find a cop parked in the fire department parking lot on Rahn Road.
