Inver Grove Heights, Minnesota Speed Traps
South Robert Trail/hwy3 Trail near State Route 55
most of the time motor cycle cops sit on a city right of way leading to 3-4 driveways on the west side of the road just north of hwy 55, they are sheilded by trees and very hard to spot unless looking right at them. if coming from the north you can’t spot them until you crest the hill and its too late. speed limit is 50..
Concord Avenue near 66th Street
A speed change from 45 mph to 35 mph at the bottom of a hill.
Interstate 494 near Dodd Bypass
State troopers and Inver Grove police wait for speeders on 494 under the overpasses between 35E and Robert Street, about a 4 mile stretch. If the weather is good you can always count on seeing at least one police car parked and waiting for an easy donation. This is by far the most notorious and predictable speed trap area in the southeast metro area. Those of us who commute this stretch of 494 regularly will automatically apply the brakes before reaching the overpasses. The police however always manage to nab enough unexpected to keep the revenue coming in. It is like shooting fish in a barrel. Where do I apply?
