Vicksburg, Mississippi Speed Traps
Clay st
Traveling west on Clay st from I-20 to the river. When you enter the buisness zone right past the national park, the speed is reduced from 45 to 30. This is a favorite place for the Vicksburg police dept.
Washington St between Port of Vicksburg and downtown.
This 2 or 3 mile stretch of 4 lane has put a lot of revenue into the city fund.
Clay Street near National Park Entrance
The City of Vicksburg has posted Speed Limit signs on Clay street just past the National Park Entrance (heading into downtown.) The signs are not legally-posted to start with, they’ve been added on poles and Below existing signs. The Speed Limit they chose is 30 mph, and the flow of traffic there makes it impossible to go that speed. If you try to drive at 30 there, someone will run over you! They set the "trap" periodically as you top the slight hill before the Pizza Hut on the leFort They flag you into that parking lot in groups of 3 or 4 cars and ticket you. Worst trap I’ve ever seen in Vicksburg! A sure money-maker for the city.

Interstate 20 East near Weight Station
If you are coming into Mississippi from Louisians and travelling on I-20 E watch out. Just as you past the first truck weight station. Slow down. On the left side there is a evlauted median that the cops hide out at sometimes to catch speeders.
