Byrnes Mill, Missouri Speed Traps
While sitting on Gravois Road (side road) at the bottom of the hill while claiming to use "stationary radar". What a total joke of a Police Dept. this is!!The Byrnes Mill P.D. needs to be disolved and the city be given to Jefferson County to patrol like all of the other towns in the area.
Moving and fixed radar / Lidar. Tickets written for slightest moving or equipment violations. Illegal unwarranted drug searches common.
It is widely believed that Speeding Ticket Revenues are the towns main source of income. Enforcement is exploitative. Other than speed limit, there are signs that prevent turns at illogical locations.
Byrnes Mill already has a listing at State Hwy. W, but be forewarned that the entire city is nothing but a speed trap. You can find them all along highway 30 from Gravois Rd. to State Hwy. W just about anytime of day or night. The police department also happens to overlook Hwy. 30. BE VERY CAREFUL ! Posted speed limit is 60 and you will be cited for ANYTHING over.
When turning from Hwy. 30 onto Hwy. W in Byrnes Mill, the speed limit is 35 m.p.h. until the bridge and then it is 55 m.p.h. this is unrealistic, but you will get a ticket even if you stop fast to avoid hitting a dog, because the officer will think you saw him.
