Vandiver Drive near Bass Pro Drive

Columbia, MissouriJul 23, 20080 Comments

If you head East on Vandiver from Paris Road, watch out. I have spotted a Columbia Police cruiser parked in a hidden parking lot behind Quizno’s. He pulled over the car in front of me. Mysteriously, another police cruiser appeared from Bass Pro Drive at the same time.

Clark Lane near US Highway 63

Columbia, MissouriJun 30, 20080 Comments

If you want to speed or commit any traffic violations, avoid Clark Lane. The Quick Trip store on the corner serves as a "substation", which basically means law enforcement personnel go there to refill drinks and grab snack items. Additionally, a high number of police officers from the Columbia Police Department, Missouri Highway Patrol, and Boone County Sherriff’s Department reside in many of the subdivisions on the outer edge of town off of Clark Lane-they frequent the area just coming to and from work. Speed at your own risk in this area!

Interstate I 70 near State Highway 40

Columbia, MissouriApr 04, 20080 Comments

At the midway exit (Hwy 40) of I 70, highway patrol uses airplane and/or radar guns at the overpass on drivers east bound on I-70. There are patrol cars lined up at the east bound on ramp waiting to pull people over. I have seen 3 or 4 cars pulled over at one time.

State Route B near State Highway 63

Columbia, MissouriFeb 20, 20080 Comments

Going North on Route B from Highway 63 on the left is the Quaker oats entrance, it has hills on either side. The officers sit there and clock people as they go by. Speed limit is 55, but with the four lanes it’s hard to stay under.

Stadium Boulevard near Stadium Blvd. and College Ave Crossing

Columbia, MissouriSep 25, 20070 Comments

A speed trap is currently in operation every weekday (around noon to 2 pm) at the crossroads of Stadium Blvd and College Ave/Rock Quarry Rd. A marked MU police cruiser will park facing towards Highway 63 (on the side opposite of where the Campus Inn used to sit) on the right side of Stadium Blvd. Due to a slight hill and traffic congestion, it will be hard to see until you are almost on it. This one is VERY consistent, I see it daily on my way to class. Good luck!
