Curryville, Missouri Speed Traps

I was driving west bound out of town & received a ticket as I passed the 60 MPH Sign (67 in a 45) – $ 500.00 ticket…INSANE….and yes a car pulled in front of me & was driving slow from the middle of town, as if it were on purpose. Prosecutor just says tickets are expensive & you have to pay them. They are willing to drop offense but not fine, as they make all of thir $ on tickets & or these type of speed traps.

They have been doing this for as long as I can remember, at least 15 to 20 years. It is famous for this, they support the town govt. with this speed trap. Make sure you are under the 35 MPH limit to make sure you do not get a ticket.

This happened to me and another person several months apart so it is probably a real setup. As you are driving through town a pickup truck with a boat will pull in front of you and drive about 15 mph. As you approach the city limits and the speed limit increases I carefully passed the pickup and boat.

My ticket was for passing within a 100 feet of an intersection, the intersection? It was a driveway! I think I mailed them $80.00.

For two of us to have the same thing happen, it has to be a setup.

Officer badge # 101 in Black unmarked Crown Vic. Hides on south side of 54 on Elm St. blocked by folage, look out not just for speeding, but passing within 100ft of intersection leaving town west bound. Speeding 3-5 over $102.50. Nice cop new black uniform with Barney Fife hat, shiney new badge, shiney new car, bad prosecutor.

Have 35 MPH speed signs and at edge of town 55 MPH between last signs watch out $80.00 1 MPH mile over although they said I was 7 MPH over.
