Montclair, New Jersey Speed Traps

Alexander Ave between Broad St. and Grove. There are Cop cars in any driveway or side road waiting for someone to go above the 25mph limit on this busy road.

This is a two part trap, not only are they monitoring speed during mid-day hours, they have cameras set up to photo license plates and record the plate with the speed. The police watch for regular vehicles and run the plates at random. If there is anything on your record they pull you over.

My wife was pulled over, had a suspended license and they knew this all along. They had a photo of her plates ran them days ago and waited until she went through the intersection.

On Mountain ave, and upper mountain ave, there are cops on the side streets with radar. You can safely go a few miles above the limit, but anything more then 7 MPH above is asking for the doughnuts to be put on hold.

I’ve gotten pulled over twice on that street. Once more on a neighboring Road (Ridgewood Ave)
