Newark, New Jersey Speed Traps
Bloomfield Ave. @ Lake St.
Speed Trap; Cops sit on Bloomfield Ave. (Northbound) hidden in front of J&J’s Hot Dog Truck. No speed limit signs anywhere. Got caught doing 40 in a 25 mile zone. At least that’s what they tell me but could not verify. What a SCAM!!!
Frelinghuysen Ave in Newark
Be aware there always the boys in blue around hiding……I can’t think of the name of those side streets but just be cautious from Weequahic Park until McDonald.
Raymond Blvd. near NJIT
Coming from Lock street to Raymond, as you go through the curve and under the bridge toward broad Street in the main part of the city… there is a marked car parked in the opposite direction with radar in the distance. The limit is 25MPH and the road grades downward.
Park Avenue and 11th Street
The East Orange PD monitors the WEST side of the bridge and the Newark Police monitors the EAST side of the bridge. Please use caution in going over this hill/bridge. This is also a cross walk, flood zone, and bus stop. Number of tragedies seen in this area. In this case I agree – please slow down.
South Orange Ave and Stuyvesant
The East Orange Cops and Newark Police monitor this area in unmarked Chargers at the border of these two towns – and will even cross the borders to give out speeding or any type of ticket if your car is not in top notch shape. No decals, strict w/license plate covers, strict with inspection stickers – beware.
