Newton, New Jersey Speed Traps

A stealth type patrol vehicle usually sits in a driveway across from the motorcycle shop. The speed limit is only 25 MPH and it is easy to exceed that as your trying to beat the short traffic light ahead. I tried to explain this to the officer but he didn’t want to hear it.

Due to recent accidents in this area, Police presence has increased. The speed limit is only 30 mph near the curve. Watch out in particular for unit #3609. He sits in his ambush site like a lion in tall grass as he stalks his prey. You will not be able to see him until it’s too late and he’s got you.

This County road is one of many that in Newton that Police set up on. In my opinion the whole town is a speed trap. I have been stopped three times in a month by the same cop! The cop is polite, however he appears to take his job a little too seriously.
