Broadway Avenue near Van Houten Avenue

Passaic, New JerseyMar 01, 20080 Comments

Officer in a stealth car will track speed or officer will sit in drop off area near preschool where speed limit is 20 miles per hour coming over viaduct ramp and catch cars "speeding". Will also get cars further down Broadway where speed limit is 25 mph. Have frequently seen the stealth car and two marked cars with a car pulled over. They often end up towing the car away, sometimes taking the driver into custody.

Brook Avenue near Passaic Avenue

Passaic, New JerseyMar 01, 20080 Comments

Officer will sit in a marked car behind parked cars and take radar as cars come down the hill on Brook Avenue toward Broadway. The speed limit is 25 mph but since its a hill, most people generally exceed that speed and they can easily catch unsuspecting drivers who cannot see the marked car until its too late.

State Highway Route 21 North near Overpass

On Rt 21 Northbound(occasionally southbound)on the 2nd overpass north of Rt. 3 Interchange. Officer on overpass, multiple cars on the entrance ramp just past this overpass. Spped limit is 55, hit 60 and they’ll nail you.

State Highway 21 near Exit Number 10

Passaic, New JerseyMay 15, 20071 Comments

The cops park on the Van Houten overpass and shoot down onto Rt 21 – Both North and South. They then have 2-3 chase cars on the entrance ramp (1/10 mile past the overpass). You can’t see the chase cars at all. However, You can notice the cop standing on the overpass looking down. I regularly go over the overpass and see them there. The cop usually has a bench there to sit on as well. More often, it is toward the end of the month.

State Highway 21 North near Gregory Avenue

Passaic, New JerseyApr 12, 20070 Comments

Police with park midway on the Gregory Avenue or River Drive overpass, get out of the car and stand at the rail with a radar gun in hand clocking cars going north on 21. A second and/or third car will be parked near the resevoir to catch the speeders. This is a long standing trap and I have seen speeders caught here swiftly at all hours of the day. At months end quota time or during holidays, the chase car is often a state trooper.
