The South Bound Brook PD normally park cruisers in the driveways of various businesses and residences (radar on) in order to snag motorists who arent as quick to adjust to the speed limit change from 45mph (Franklin Twp)–> 25mph (South Bound Brook).

The rule: Go 20 mph to play it safe(r).

When coming off of 287 or Easton Ave from Rutgers and going North toward Route 22 one must travel down Main St. in South Bound Brook. You go from doing 45 on Easton Ave or 65 on 287 to a limit of 40, then quickly 30, then 25. At night this looks like a road that might have a 35 limit or so, but the 25 is strictly enforced. Do not speed through here as there are many small side streets and empty parking lots for the cops to hide in. They will ticket you to raise money for the town, espescially if your license says you live in one of the affluent surrounding areas, (i.e. Bridgewater, Bernards, Warren, Watchung).
