Summit, New Jersey Speed Traps

Beware of police cars hidden behind & in the parking lot of the Fortnightly Club between Lenox & Edgewood Roads. Posted speed limit on that road is only 25 mph and the police catch a lot of people going too fast on their way into Summit Center.

Coming down the hill on Division Ave, there is often a police officer catching speeders who are unaware of the momentum caused by the hill. While the posted speed is 25, they very rarely pull over speeders who are going under 35mph, but do not approach 40mph.

When you’re coming off of JFK parkway and first entering Summit onto River Rd., there are a lot of very dark driveways and side streets. Speed limit drops drastically down to 35mph and Summit police likes to catch the people who miss the sign. Seen them on left and right side of the street.
