Union, New Jersey Speed Traps
salem Avenue near morris Avenue
road speed is posted at 25 mph between morris ave. and five points
Martin Avenue near Raritan Road
Just after you cross martin ave and ratitan road junction signal ( proceeding towards lake ave), there would be a cop car waiting for you on the left hand side of the road, parked his car amongst the heavy woods on the curb. The place he parks is over a blink curve so you will not see him until you have just reach the curb and it would be too late to slow down. The posted speed limit is 45 mph. The martin ave before the signal is a single lane road which is always congested. After the junction the road becomes double lane and less congested and you tend drive a little faster after getting freed from the congestion…and thats when u suddenly see the monocromatic car….
Interstate 78
The first 15 miles into NJ from PA on I-78 the state troopers are looking for PA drivers. They think a PA driver will not want to come back for a court date. In addtition the state trying to generate more revenue since it shutdown for three days a couple of weeks ago. The troopers are all young and are probably looking to make a good impression. This is my FIRST violation since I was 16 and the cop gave me NO break.
Green Lane near Kean COllege
I used to take this back road to the Union Train station before I moved. As the road curves (and as you are rushing to get to the train on time) a cop frequently sits in front of the back entrance to station. If you are speeding you won’t see him in time to slow down. Also, at least one cop is in the parking lot most mornings.
Interstate 78 near Exit Number 11
Exit 11. The state troopers will sit on the entrance ramp to the highway. You can only see them in your rear view mirror once your past the ramp. very sneaky.
