At the flats by the playground and baseball fields there are two parking lots, one on each side of the fields. The cops alternate which parking lot they sit in. The posted speed limit is 40. They are often there at 2:00 which is when the high school kids are driving home.

Use extreme caution in this town. There are many 35 MPH zones and all the Twp. cars are equipped with radar(instant on), which they use quite frequently. Anytime is bad, but from 3-11PM is the most hazardous time to travel through Vernon.
