Wall, New Jersey Speed Traps
State Route 34 near Allenwood Road
Just past the bank on 34 north before the allenwood exit this guy will wait behind trees on the side of the road. My radar detector did not help me but did go off as I passed him. I didnt get a ticket since it was my first offense but I did get a warning.
Belmar Boulevard
As is well documented, the Stetson hat-clad Wall PD are really tough. At the southern end of the Parkway rest area (roughly 1 mile north of exit 98), there exists a commuter parking lot from which one can access the parkway off of Belmar Boulevard, thus avoiding the toll plaza. State troopers will periodically block the entrance from the lot to discourage this practice, but generally this little trick is a well-kept secret. At just about any time of day, a Wall cop is stationed beneath the Parkway overpass with his car pointed eastbound. It’s a 40 mph zone, and the good ol’ boys of Wall will pull you over for practically just making eye contact with them. Always be alert when in Wall though, as patrol cars are just about everywhere. At last count, there were almost 200 officers on the payroll.
Highway 35
Wall Township PD, car was shiny new silver Chevrolet Camaro, marked car, large lettering on sides, but no light bar, multiple strobes. Had two cars pulled over. Definitely X-band radar-equipped. I know they’re common elsewhere, but I hadn’t seen a Camaro traffic pursuit car in NJ before.
Route 34, one of the circles
Police Cars will wait in parking lots that are around the driving circle. They will stop you for anything that makes them a buck.
