Whippany, New Jersey Speed Traps
Jefferson Road (entire length in Hanover Township)
Barney Fife will sit in various driveways along Jefferson Road–especially on weekends/holidays at any time, at night the rest of the week–waiting for people to speed down the tempting Jefferson Road. There is some leeway given, but the coffers need to be filled somehow for Hanover Township. Slow down!!
Eden Lane
On the stretch of Eden Lane from its beginning by the former Crestwood Nursing Home to the part that gets intersected by Jefferson Road, there are cops constantly. You will be tempted to go fast on Eden Lane Raceway as it is sometimes called, with four lanes at some parts, but there will almost certainly be a cop waiting in one of the many dug ins and paths along this windy road
Algonquin Parkway between State Route 10 and Troy Road
It is a totally Industrial road with not one house on it. Yet Whippany has set the speed limit at 30mph for no other reason than to make piles of money. It is certainly not set for any safety reasons. It is not easy to go that slowly on such a wide and empty road. Then when you finally reach Troy Road you had better make a full stop because they are also waiting just around the corner to get you. Be careful!!!
Whippany Road near Whippany Park High School
Squad car or motor cycle officer backed into tennis court parking area, partially hidden by trees and bushes
Reynolds Avenue near Bee Meadow Pond
Right by the school (which is understandable) but I wanted to warn you. The officer stands practically in the bushes and uses the radar gun to trap anyone going anyhing over the 25 mile an hour limit. BEWARE!
