Interstate NYS Thruway near Mile Marker 116
If you are Northbound on the thruwaym beware State police will park in a turnaround on the left, in the shade of the trees. You will be coming downhill making a slight left turn. There is often multiple vehicles lyng in wait.
State Route 9W near State Route 23
As you head north out of the town of Catskill and go down the hill after you pass McDonald’s-
Just when you pass the crappy used car dealer on the left side, you’d better be going 30, or the cop sitting under the rt.23 overpass will get you. They’ll also sit in the price chopper parking lot and radio ahead to an officer who will ticket you if you are on your cell phone.
SR 23 E bound coming out of the Mtns. into town
Sudden drop in speed limit from 55 to 35 (I did not percieve the lower speed sign) coming down from the mountains into Catskill. Seemed to concentrate of out of state drivers. Ticket was $235.00.
The U turn on ST RT 23 near the trooper barracks. Or in the parking lot of the old Dairy Queen.
They seem to pick up more of the outta staters doing more than 62 or 63. i wouldnt do more than 65-70 in the 55mph on rt 23 in catskill. if u see a cop or your rader detectors beep, SLOW DOWN TO 58 OR SO!!!
