Route 430 Fountain Bowl parking lot

Jamestown, New YorkNov 15, 20170 Comments

Night and day there is usually a NYS Police SUV/cruiser, or a Town of Ellicott SUV/cruiser parked anywhere in the front parking lot. The vehicles are parked either facing east or west. Sometimes a Chautauqua County Sheriff car joins them. They like to sit there because of the speed limit change from 45 mph to 40 mph after coming down the Fluvanna hill on Route 430, or coming down Strunk Road to the T intersection with Route 430. They also watch for drivers running the stop sign on Old Fluvanna Road where it joins Route 430. Sometimes they may be located across Strunk Road in the old Tele-Sec parking lot or in Peterson’s Market parking lot after store hours.

This is about a 5 mile stretch on 62 heading to the PA line and heading back to Route 60 on 62. NYS police and the Chautauqua Sheriffs dept. Constantly parole this stretch 24 hours a day. Radar enforced. I drive this area every day and see numerous drivers being ticketed day and night.
