Interstate I85 near State Highway 70
Durham PD and NC Highway Patrol will sit under the Highway 70 bridge on southbound I-85 as you round the curve from left to right. You cannot see them until it is too late. This is mostly is the AM rush hour, but have seen them in the afternoons as well. They also sit under the highway 70 bridge on northbound I-85 – you can usually slow down before they hit you with the radar. They also sit on the exit from Highway 70 west to northbound I-85. You cannot see them from I-85 northbound until it is way too late.
Russell Road near Cole Mill Road
NC State Trooper Patrols Russell Road between Cole Mill Road and intersection of Russell and Bivens Road. The speed limit on Russell before the Bivens intersection is 45 and then becomes 35 after the Bivens intersection. No ample warning.
Interstate I-40 near Interstate I-85
Beginning to see troopers sitting in median beneath overpass in area between Durham and the I-85 junction. They are looking for the fast traffic and I went thru the trap at 75 and was ignored; he’s waiting on the 80mph+ guys that are common on that stretch of new road.
Interstate 85 North near Cole Mill Road
Cars are constantly stopped on I-85 North just before the Cole Mill Road Exit. Speed limit has just changed from 65 to 55, and many people fail to recognize this.
Guess Road near Horton Road
The police are constantly pulling people over. All times of the day.
