Most of the time if you travel u.s hwy 70 se in hickory, nc around the 2800 block and 3000 block of this hwy you’ll most likely get a speeding ticket. Officers will sometimes sit stationary on the side road at the catawba funeral home. Officers will sometimes traveling back and forth clocking vehicles going down the hill. The speed limit is 50, but most motorists go around 65 mph.

Hickory police typically sit in the grassy median on McDonald Parkway facing southbound traffic. If you are going south on Mcdonald Parkway after passing Tate Blvd you come up a hill. Right after you crest the hill there is often Hickory police sitting there. Started seeing this this past summer and quite often ever since. Great place for them to get speeders and other violators because you dont see them til its too late. Usually in the late morning to early afternoon is when they are there.

McDonald Parkway is a fairly new road. Enforcement has been quite rigorous. The road is about 3.5 miles long and one can expect to be "shot" at least once while traveling its length.
