Kannapolis, North Carolina Speed Traps

main street runs from kannapolis on end to landis north carolina to china grove north carolina an on up into salisbury north carolina.. all 4 police departmens + the north carolina highway patrol run heavy speed traps on this highway.this highway is about 15 miles long.

Near I-85 across from the Pilot gas station and beside the Waffle House.The officers park in the parking lot of an empty shirt manufacturing plant.Both Kannapolis city and State Patrol.Speed limit is 35 but traffic is usually going closer to 45.

Kannapolis City Police are the only ones I’ve seen patroling this area. The most common occurance is to see one sitting in the driveway of what appears to be an unoccupied home (as I have never seen a car in the driveway). I’ve only really noticed people being pulled over heading towards Lane Street on China Grove Road. When you drive over the hill you can’t see the officer until you’re coming down the hill and he’s already clocked you. Just be careful coming over that hill!

A marked highway patrol car sits in a mans driveway facing back towards I-85. If your headed toward old concord rd don’t speed. he also sits at an old warehouse near the truck stop…he’s written everyone in the area

The speed trap is set up to encompass the stretch from the new loop rd. to the city limits just pass the church. They sit in the church parking lot on one end or on the closed feeder exit wt the other end.The school is the biggest reason for the trap plus the residents complaining.
