US Hwy601 South out of town
US Hwy601 south out of town in Union County between the town of Monroe and the South Carolina State line. Highway patrol sit up on the entrance ramps behind the trees with radar guns. You never see them until they pull up behind you and execute a traffic stop. Officers will not give warnings but will refer you to city court complex where you can meet with the prosecutor and plead “improper equipment” or “prayer for judgement”. No judges involved.
US-74 at Concord Ave / Skyway Dr (US-601) overpass(es)
Police (usually en masse from Sherriff’s dept to Monroe, Stallings and other surrounding town’s police) will stand with Lidar on the overpasses over US-74, with police cars waiting on the other side to catch you. Have seen 6 people pulled over at a time. This is usually during holidays (TG, Xmas) but have seen it at other times. Watch the bridges for someone standing on them. Slow to 45 as you approach. Most people drive this stretch of road at 55 or higher. Easy pickings.
Two miles east of Monroe on hwy. 601
Sit in the medium in the darkness of night catching traffic from the beach or whereever.
Williams Road EXT
The overflow parking lot for the Monroe Aquatics Center on Williams Rd. Ext. the speed limit is 35 (Majority of people go at least 45-50) Usually 1 if not 2 cops are posted up waiting for people who are speeding.
Rocky River Rd. (from Secrest Short Cut to Bakers)
Monroe Police patrol this area during morning and evening commutes…speed limit is 45, set the cruise and don’t be in a hurry. They will get you.
