Sanford, North Carolina Speed Traps
Highway 87 Vicinity of Carolina lakes
Rolling Radar Patrolled by both State Police and the Harnett Co. Sheriff’s Department, just south of Sanford before you enter Lee Co.
Conditions: 55MPH (Should be 60/65), Rural, 4 lanes w/ grass median, Low vol. of traffic=easy pickins for revenue.
I have stopped spending my $$ in Harnett Co. to send a message. Either you want revenue or commerce but not both. I suggest you do the same.
Horner Boulevard near State Highway 421
I live in Sanford. You need to be real careful driving above 45 MPH in the 35 MPH posted speed on U.S. 421 (Horner Blvd) which runs right through the town. I’ve seen radar all times of the day, and in locations ranging from where 421 hits US 1, to near the old courthouse, to South of town.
State Route 15/501 near Hawkins Avenue
Police cars park in new auto dealer lot.
McNeil Road near Green Vally Drive
Hidden from view at bridge officer will use radar and be on the road before you even pass him. Speed limit in this area is unrealistically low and in the time it took me to read my citation another car was pulled over. Easy pickins for the cops in this area!
US Highway 421 near Horner Road
Sanford Police seem to be everywhere and good at what they do even on U.S. 1.
