Hooker Road right off Wrigtsville Avenue

Wilmington, North CarolinaMay 11, 20102 Comments

The road is short, but don’t let that fool you. Another road that the speed limit was dropped from 35 to 25 in the last few years, and the cops wait right at each corner just waiting for you to accelerate past 35. This is one of their favorite spots and are there regularly each month.

Market street between Bayshore Dr & Porter’s Neck Rd

Wilmington, North CarolinaMar 28, 20100 Comments

I live in the Ogden area, and for the past 2 weeks I have seen a big increase in traffic stops along Market street between Bayshore Drive and Porter’s Neck road. It’s 45mph but most go 50 plus, except rush hour. Be careful especially at night because this area is being patrolled heavy by state troopers, local police, and county sheriff’s, and they are pulling people over.

Greenville Lake Area by Carolina Beach Road N

Typically an officer is sitting in this area waiting for drivers coming from the city. Met up and overheard one specific officer bragging in the courthouse. Slow down coming down Third Street through that area.

Interstate 40 east near Exit Number Gordon Road

Wilmington, North CarolinaJul 24, 20082 Comments

Follow the speed limit as you drive east on I-40 into Wilmington. As you approach the Gordon Road Exit, deputies or troopers are waiting in the grass median. I pass this location daily and it’s highly enforced. Occasionally, the new SABLE helicopter will play part in the enforcement. The helicopter will run radar and the deputy or trooper will be waitng down the road. It’s entertaining for the locals.
