Boston Heights, Ohio Speed Traps
Akron-Cleveland Road near State Highway Rt. 303 / Rt. 8
This is a really sneaky one. Both north and southbound on Akron-Cleveland Rd.(State Rd. in Cuyahoga Falls) near the intersection of Rt. 303 near the Rt. 8 entrance/exit – the section in front of Tequila Pancho’s restaurant. As of the winter of 2005/2005 The Village placed 25 mph signs (was 45), and only 50 feet or so ahead is a "reduced speed" sign. There was some brief minor road work, but has been completed.
State Route 8 near State Route 303
The Boston Heights Communities main source of income is the speed traps which it sets up on RT. 8 North. The area approaching the RT 303 exit all the way to the light at Boston Mills Rd is trecherous. It is not uncommon for this very small community to have 5 patrol cars lined up on the side of the road to pull people over. I work in this area and see police presence about 2 – 3 times a week during the morning hours. The speed limit in this zone changes often. Do not be a contributer to this money maker.
State Route 8 near Steel Corners Avenue
As soon as you exit the turnpike coming and hit Route 8 South the fun begins. First it starts with the city Boston Heights who use BOTH Laser and Kband Radar (constant on and not the tricky instant on). From there you pass city of Hudson who I rarely see but do have Ka band Radar and laser. From there it is the city of Stow who use laser and are usualy parked by Steel Corners exit. As you pass this fun you hit the funnest city Cuyahoga Falls who LOVE laser and use it HEAVILY with multiple patrol cars ready to go. If you survive this then you hit Akron who also like laser and have multipler patrol cars ready to go. Be VERY CAREFULL on Route 8. This route is a MONEY MAKER for all of the cities.
State Highway 8, Akron-Cleveland Road
Highway 8 heading North from Akron is posted at 65 mph until it nears Boston Heights, where signs for 55 mph are posted only on the right side. Shortly thereafter a sign posts 50 mph, again on the right side of the road. At that point I got a ticket for missing the 55 mph signs, which I couldn’t see due to heavy traffic, and braked suddenly for the 50 mph posting.

Boston Heights police will hide any time of day or night as expressway narrows to four-lane highway.
