Clayton, Ohio Speed Traps
Interstate 70 Westbound near State Route 49
I wouldn’t call this much of a speed trap but if you are the type to speed just be cautious in this area. State route 49 going north bound headed onto Interstate 70 westbound, as soon as you merge from 49 to 70 about a quarter mile down there’s a widening in the median on the highway, where the highway patrol off to the side of the highway almost every time, but that’s careful sometimes they place unmarked highway patrol cars to bait people. People will think it’s a random car just pulled over to the side for whatever reason but it’s actually indeed a state trooper. State troopers love interstate 70 in between the 70/75 junction and Brookville

There is about a 1/4 mile stretch of road where the speed limit is 35 mph heading away from St. Rt. 48 and 50 mph heading towards 48. I didn’t notice the difference in the speed limit based on your direction of travel until I received my first ticket in 10 years.

Clayton absorbed surrounding unincorporated areas, so this is now in their jurisdiction. Speed limit was reduced from 50 to 35. Now Clayton cops sit at various spots in this 1-mile stretch of road catching speeders right and left.
