Cops sit on Tressel bridge avove and colck you and and another officer down the highway pulls you over. They also sit under the overpass just before exit to Lostnation Rd.
Vine Street near East 361 Street
Eastlake Police hide in different parking lots among used cars. Also enforce the no turn right on red off 361st on to vine
Vine Street near E 361-E365 Street
The police sit in the parking lots of businesses on Vine street, truthfully it can be anywhere from Route 91 to Willoughby. They will either catch speeders using radar or Pace drivers to determine their speed, not making themselves known.
State Route 2 near Exit Number Rt. 91 Exit
On the Sunday mornings of Browns football games, the Eastlake police have one patrol car clocking people at the Rt. 91 exit, and at least 4 patrol cars waiting one exit away on the 305th Street exit pulling people over. In the span of the five minutes I was pulled over to recieve my ticket I saw 3 more people being pulled over. Adding that to the one person who was already pulled over, that is a total of 5 tickets in probably 7 minutes.
Vine Street (S.R. 640) (ENTIRE LENGTH)
Speed limit is 25 MPH on this 4-lane state route that is a commercial district. Any other city would have the speed limit set at 35…and most do. Rarely a pedestrian in sight. There are numerous nooks and crannies between buildings where they hide and I have friends who have been nailed for 26 there. Don’t even think of driving a modified car there, as the police will nail you for the slightest modification, even if they know that it won’t hold up in court. Out after midnight? Expect to be breathalyzed and roadsided. The same goes for the part of Vine Street in Willowick. Personalities range from professional to fascist. Driving while black is a crime in Eastlake, as it is pretty much anywhere in Lake County. They get feisty if they see your radar detector. If you absolutely must drive there, don’t go a hair over 25 and wear your seat belt.
