State Highway 235 near City Limits

Fairborn, OhioJul 11, 20081 Comments

As you drive by Wright-Patterson AFB, the speed limit is 45 mph for a 4-lane highway in a mostly rural area. The OHP and WPAFB Security Police (yes, they have been granted enforcement authority by the state) routinely patrol this section of 235.

Also, as you approach Fairborn on the same road, you round a right-hand bend where the speed transitions from 45 to 35. Fairborn PD likes to set up shop in an abandoned used car lot just inside the city limits. Be sure to check your speed; you will be unable to see John Law until you are on top of him.

When you exit I-675 onto SR 444 (North Broad St) and head toward Fairborn, the speed limit is 50 MPH. In about 3/4 of a mile, the speed limit is reduced to 35 MPH just before you crest a hill. Since you are now heading down a fairly steep incline, it is very easy to speed up. Fairborn police will sit at the bottom of the hill shooting radar up the hill and get you as you crest the hill.
