Franklin, Ohio Speed Traps

From Manchester Rd in Middletown, north to Franklin, there is about 5 miles posted at 35 mph. The speed limit was changed about 1 year or so ago from 50 or 55 mph, which it should be. Local belief is that no traffic study was done, and it was a political gift to a commissioner or someone important who lives on the road. A year ago it was being HIGHLY enforced. I got a ticket when I was just entering the area that used to be 35 because I hadn’t noticed the new posting earlier. I think it is still enforced because most traffic stays at 35 mph even through some of the parts where there are no houses. The same road in Middletown, south from Manchester Rd, with similar house spacing has a 50 mph speed limit.

Franklin Police run radar and laser alot in this area. It is just south of the Lion bridge that was old rte 123. They hide in the church parking lot and aim north for sb traffic. What helps them get their coffee money, is a traffic signal that short cycles for sb movement. This light favors eb and wb traffic, so you have to speed up to catch the green light sb.

The police car hides in a driveway almost every Sunday morning. It’s hard to see because the driveway is hidden by trees, but once you do see him, and you’re speeding, it’s too late. This speed trap is near Worthington about 1/2 mile north of I-270.

After leaving I75 and heading south on 123, you will pass the truck stops. There will be a church on the right. Here, there is a speed trap with K band radar. The speed limit is 35 here. I have also picked up the same K signal from further south on 123.

After passing little turtle way on I-161 there is alot of construction and before the sunburry exit a cop usually sits there.
