Watch this area between 8am and 10 am for a speed trap. On coming motorists try to warn with their lights by flashing them. This area is right at the Kett/Dayton line before you get to Channel 7 & donut shop. The speedtrap faces both oncoming from dayton and to dayton. Sometimes they hide behind bushes.

Ansel Avenue near Wilmington Pike Street

Kettering, OhioApr 17, 20050 Comments

During the hours of 8am-10am there is always an officer sitting in their car waiting for anyone to go over 25 MPH. There is a school at the end of Ansel off Wilmington Pk. and the fine High. Kettering is also watching Every school zone until after 10am. They will try to get you for a rolling stop at the stop sign their too. You risk getting your car searched not to mention a few extra unwanted tickets.

Shroyer Road near Dorothy Lane

This trap pertains to all of Shroyer Road from Wilmington Ave to the end at Far Hills Ave. Kettering police are very strict, if you are doing over 35 MPH you will get a ticket, your car may be searched, and you will be fined, heavily. The courthouse is standing room only as there are so many people there for speeding. And I have yet to hear of a fine that is less than $100.00

2000 Block Woodman Drive

Kettering, OhioOct 01, 20000 Comments

Kettering PD Motocycle Patrol operating in Ascension Catholic School speed zone just south of Patterson Drive intersection. Motorcycle officer uses unmarked vehicle to obstruct view of his position on a blind curve in the northbound lane median strip’s left turn lane. Speed zone sign is mounted above normal view obstructed partially blocked by a tree branch. I have never have observed children present nor vehicle traffic in and out of school lot during noon time enforcement activities. Officer typically arrests several victims by stopping traffic then directs them across median into Kettering FD Station at Patterson Drive intersection. Therefore watch for unusal civilian traffic in FD Station parking lot as a clue to enforcement activities.
