Lyndhurst, Ohio Speed Traps
Corner of Mayfield and Richmond
No right on red 7am-6pm. Most other signs in the city say weekdays. Got my ticket 9:30am sunday morning. NO/very light traffic. Police wait on south east side of Mayfield in school driveway.
Winchester Road south of Meadow Wood and Golfway
Police cruisers are sitting on side streets and even in residential driveways waiting for speeders in this 25 mph residential area. It’s a residential cut through street to I271 south. Believe it or not, I use my cruise on this street — 28 is the lowest it will set.
Mayfield Rd. just east of Brainard Rd.
Police cars hide in the nearby business parking lots (like at the dry cleaner on the north side of Mayfield) and watch for cars that do not slow down enough for St. Clare school zone. The school zone is tiny and the signs not easily seen at the busy intersection. Also, they get the benefit of ticketing prohibited right turns, as the small print on the sign makes the turn prohibited during part of the day, including morning rush hour.
Intersection of Mayfield and Richmond Roads
The police sit on the Board of Education parking lot on the South-West corner of the intersection and look for people speeding, going through red lights and turning right on red during restricted areas. Must be a cash cow for the city as they have been doing this for a long long time.
