Newton Falls, Ohio Speed Traps
State Route 534 near Broad Street
Police will sit in the Movie Store parking lot. Dont do a rolling stop here.
State Route Rt. 534
The locals avoid traveling through this town if possible and I advise that everyone do the same. The cops patrol the entire city with a heavy hand. There is NO tolerance as to driving even one mph above the speed limit. Radar can be set up anywhere in the village and the Newton Falls police are cagey. They are also known for pulling over out of area cars just to badger the occupants. One area of particular concern is the two rural miles of Rt. 534 coming into town from the south where one would not suspect that the speed limit is an unrealistic 35 mph. If I had to name the worst speed trap in the country, Newton Falls would win! Beware!
Warren Road near State Highway Rt. 5
Speed limit is 40mph for a mile or more with a sudden drop to 25 just before the tracks heading toward the town of newton falls. The sign is not posted clearly. during the dark hours beaware, the man will leap out at you for Any lil reason, even if its just to ask if this is your car. and dont fail to use the turn signal when you get to the 4 way stop. even if you use it make sure the bulb is not out.
State Route 534 near Broad Street
Newton Falls depends upon traffic fine revenue to finance the village. The village police lie in wait anywhere along RT. 534 and will cite you for 1 mile per hour over the posted limit. If you are stopped, expect to pay the maximum fine. Of all of the communities in Ohio, Newton Falls is perhaps the worst for stopping drivers for minor traffic violations. People local to the area often drive 10-15 miles out of their way to avoid the place. I suggest that everyone reading this do the same.
