Shaker Heights, Ohio Speed Traps
Shaker Boulevard near Belvoir Boulevard
Shaker Blvd west bound moderate to high enforcement at Belvoir Blvd. Also travelling westbound before Attleboro Rd. and also after crossing Lee Rd.
West Park Boulevard near Shaker Boulevard
Travelling east and then curving south on West Park towards Shaker Blvd. a patrol often sits on the east side that you can’t see until you have rounded the bend approaching Shaker Blvd.
van Aken Boulevard near St. Domincs Church
Van Aken near Parkland Drive. Both east and west. There is a very poorly marked school zone for St. Dominics Church that will be active at varying hours hours during the day. Police hide in the rapid parking lot, and catch unaware motorists doing the speed limit of 35mph with a 15 mph over ticket in a school zone.
Parkland Drive near Maynard Road
Gray car with small blue light on top. Officer is positioned either in a driveway of a private home or is positioned in such a manner that his car is on Maynard but facing Parkland Blvd. traffic. The city has two other speedtrap vehicles in blue and dark gray which troll the Chagrin Blvd. Shopping District. and Shaker Blvd & Green Road.
Van Aken Boulevard near Lee Road
Heading due NW on Van Aken after crossing Lee, watch for cops as you turn the bend.
Also at the next light past Lee at the cross street, there’s a cop that usually hides in the early AM. S/he is looking for running a light or people going well over the speed limit. My experience is that they give about a 7-10mph grace.
Take it easy for the next 3 lights after that. During stings which occur about once every two weeks, they line the entire road, mainly NW traffic because it’s downhill.
